GoDaddy Academy: making a certification programme work as a digital product.
GoDaddy India was exploring certification programmes for skills such as web development and cybersecurity. Before a platform could be built, the team needed to understand which certifications would matter in the Indian market and how a learner would move through the programme.
Our involvement covered research, programme validation, product strategy and key parts of the digital system. We worked with senior GoDaddy stakeholders on the learner model, helped shape the certifications, and built workflows for registration, referrals, assessment and certificate generation.

The first question was not what the website should look like.
A certification programme earns trust through the relevance of its curriculum, the credibility of its assessment and the clarity of the learner experience. The product had to connect those parts without making administration unmanageable.
Research and programme design
We spoke with students and early-career learners, explored demand and helped assess which certification areas were likely to be useful in India. The output informed both the programme structure and the digital product that supported it.
Learner system
Registration and referrals
Learners could register on the platform and enter through direct or affiliate pathways. A referral system supported partner-led acquisition.
Learning and assessment
After completing the relevant learning material, participants moved into an assessment flow that combined theoretical questions, case work and practical website-building tasks.
Review and certification
The system supported marks and evaluation, including manual review where the practical work required it. Once the requirements were complete, certificates could be generated through the platform.

Reflection
The project taught us that learning products cannot be separated into “content” and “technology” as cleanly as a project plan suggests. The assessment model changes the interface. The partner model changes registration. The credibility of the certificate changes what the system must record. Good product decisions came from looking at the programme as a whole.
