Cookie policy
This is a plain language draft, prepared for review by our legal advisers before it is final. The short version: nothing optional runs until you say yes, and changing your mind takes one click on this page.

The short version
This website asks to use one optional kind of cookie: analytics, from Google Analytics 4. It loads only if you choose Allow analytics in the cookie banner. If you choose No thanks, or never answer, it does not load at all.
There are no advertising cookies, no social media pixels and no tracking you across other websites. Our fonts, images and scripts are served from our own server, so reading a page does not quietly call out to anyone else.
Cookies and local storage, briefly
A cookie is a small text file a website saves in your browser so it can remember something between pages or visits. Local storage does a similar job, but the information stays in your browser and is never sent to a server with each request.
We use one of each, and only one of them is optional.
What this website stores
Your consent choice (always, because it is how we remember your answer)
| Name | Type | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
dnc-consent |
Local storage | Remembers whether you chose Allow analytics (saved as “granted”) or No thanks (saved as “denied”), so the banner does not ask you on every page | Until you change your choice or clear your browser’s site data |
This entry never leaves your device. We cannot read it, and it contains nothing that identifies you.
Analytics (optional, only after you say yes)
Google Analytics 4 sets first party cookies that work together as one measurement tool:
| Name | Set by | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga |
Google Analytics 4 | Tells one browser apart from another, so we can count visitors rather than page loads | Up to 2 years |
_ga_ followed by our measurement ID |
Google Analytics 4 | Keeps track of the current visit, such as which pages you have seen | Up to 2 years |
With your consent, these help us understand, in aggregate, which pages people read, how long they stay, what kind of device they use, roughly which country or city they are in and how they found us. We use this to decide what to write, what to fix and what to remove. We never try to identify individual visitors.
Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We do not switch on Google Signals, advertising features or data sharing for advertising. Google processes analytics data under its own privacy terms, and that processing may take place outside India, including in the United States.
What the server may do
Our hosting provider may use strictly necessary technical measures, such as security controls and short-lived logs, to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. If we switch on Cloudflare Turnstile to keep automated programs out of the project brief, Cloudflare processes technical details about your browser for that check alone. None of this is used for advertising or analytics.
How the banner works
On your first visit, a small banner appears in the corner of the screen after a moment, so it never jumps in front of the first thing you read. It offers two buttons of equal weight: Allow analytics and No thanks.
- Until you choose, no analytics code is loaded.
- If you choose Allow analytics, Google Analytics loads straight away and on later visits.
- If you choose No thanks, it never loads, and the banner will not ask again.
- If you close the page without choosing, nothing is loaded and the banner will ask next time.
The banner does not read browser privacy signals such as Global Privacy Control, so please use the banner itself to decline.
How to change your choice
You can change your mind at any time, and it is as easy as the first choice was.
- Use the button on this page. Select Change my cookie choice near the top of this page. It clears your saved answer and shows the banner again, so you can pick the other option.
- Clear this site’s data in your browser. Removing cookies and site data for designandcode.tech also removes your saved answer, and the banner will ask again on your next visit.
If you allowed analytics and later change to No thanks, Google Analytics stops loading from your next page view. The _ga cookies already in your browser stay there until they expire, so to remove them straight away, delete cookies for designandcode.tech in your browser settings. Google also offers a browser add-on that blocks Google Analytics on every website.
Other websites
Links on this site can take you to services we do not run, such as WhatsApp, your email provider or a client’s website. Once you arrive there, their cookies and their policies apply, not ours.
Changes to this policy
If we ever add another cookie or third-party service, we will update this page before it goes live, and anything optional will wait behind the banner until you agree. The date at the top shows the latest version.
