Ekeeda: modernising the platform without losing the education business inside it.

Ekeeda already had a functioning education business and an established technology estate. The task was to modernise the systems behind it while making the learner experience easier to use.

The work moved a legacy .NET environment towards the cloud, redesigned the learner portal and applications, and connected HRMS and CRM capabilities with the wider platform. This was not a greenfield product. Decisions had to account for existing data, existing users and the parts of the business that could not pause while the new system was being built.

A modern interface would not solve a fragmented system.

Learners, employees and internal teams touched different parts of the platform. Improving one screen without connecting the underlying systems would have moved the friction somewhere else.

Legacy and cloud

The existing .NET environment was assessed and moved towards a cloud-based architecture. The migration had to preserve continuity while creating a cleaner base for future services.

Learner experience

The portal and applications were redesigned around course discovery, access and the repeated tasks learners needed to complete.

Connected business systems

HRMS and CRM capabilities were digitised and integrated with the learner-facing platform so employee, customer and course information could move through a more coherent system.

Reflection

Modernisation is often described as a technical migration. In practice, it is a sequence of product decisions about what must remain familiar, what can change and where the business needs better visibility. That combination shaped the work here.
